Megan Bass, Class of 2016

Change can be good, and this change was very good. After traveling to and from Orlando quite a few times in the past few months, it was beautifully refreshing to shoot a local session with a touch of real Florida. Megan and I met at a local plant nursery (which is a location I adore) and began her senior session. We started off with succulents- some of the cutest plants, ever- and explored the nursery, finding patches of golden light and greenery along the way, discussing college plans and how math is actually fun. After wrapping up at the first location, we drove down to an inlet- which for you non-Floridians is where the river meets the sea- reveling in the perfection of both the weather and light. This shoot was so creatively fulfilling and I’m thrilled to share these images today.

Megan and I have known each other for a few years now through church productions and school and it was wonderful to connect further during her shoot. She just graduated with her AA degree in Pre-Medicine, will be transferring in the fall to pursue her BS in Chemical Engineering, and will later go on to medical school to study ophthalmology; these pursuits are towards the goal of becoming a vitreoretinal surgeon.  Both kind and intelligent, Megan enjoys math and science, cooking, reading, traveling, and the Gilmore Girls. Europe is her dream travel destination, especially the cities with high historical significance, such as London, Rome, and Athens. Megan, I had such a wonderful time on your session and absolutely love the images we captured. I wish you all the best!

Enjoy the images.

Have a fantastic rest of your day, friends, and Happy New Year!

Quotes of the day: “Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
– John 15:4-5

“Be messy and complicated and afraid, and show up anyways.”
– Glennon Doyle Melton
