I haven’t been around for all that long, but I’ve managed to pick up a few important lessons in my life that are worth being shared. The key lesson I’ve learned is this: Don’t take anything for granted. Cherish those things like someone’s quirky laugh, the way they narrate stories with their hands or even their predictable way of walking down the creaky hallway. As important as these pieces of life are, they usually don’t make it onto our “100 Things I’m Most Grateful For” lists compiled at Thanksgiving time. These are life’s treasures that are so easily taken for granted and are most missed when gone.
Take today to recognize and appreciate the small things.
Quote of the day: “The creed of the true saint is to make the best of life, and make the most of it.”
